A note from Dr. Hershberger:

Thank you again, and BORP thanks you. It was something special to see the grins of the kids on their handcrank trikes, and the blind folks on the back of tandems, making a breeze in their face. My new hero is Alejandro, a Mexican man, double amputee above the knees from a motor accident. He went to school, became an airplane mechanic, and started cutting up bicycles because his wheelchair was too slow. In the late eighties he invented the handcrank trike. He now rides a cool, self-made carbon fiber handcrank trike. Not only did he finish the 100 mile, cranking entirely by hand, he smoked me! One powerful dude. And a magnet for the kids in their wheelchairs- Very cool role model for a healthy self (em)powered lifestyle. THAT is what BORP is all about. I'll be doing it again next year.

Thank you again!
