Dr. Daniel Hershberger is a graduate of U.C. Berkeley's Department of Physiology and U.C. Davis' School of Veterinary Medicine, Class of 1981. After working in emergency medicine for 4 years, he came to All Pets Hospital in 1985. Dr. Hershberger is a member of the California and American Veterinary Medical Associations and is an affiliate member of the American Animal Hospital Association. His special interests include canine and feline orthopedics and geriatric medicine.

 

 

  
 

Dr. Alex Herman, BS, DVM , earned her BS in Drawing and Biology from the University of Minnesota in 1992, and her DVM in 1997 from UC Davis. She was hired to start the exotic medicine service at All Pets Hospital in 1997. Dr. Herman has a special interest in Avian, Exotic Reptile and Exotic Mammal medicine and surgery and of course all beloved cats and dogs. She is an active member of the California Veterinary Medical Association, American Veterinary Medical Association, Association of Avian Veterinarians, and Association of Reptile and Amphibian Veterinarians. Dr. Herman does pro bono work for wildlife and volunteers for Street Outreach Services veterinary care. She also works part-time at the Oakland Zoo.

In her free time, Dr. Herman enjoys bicycling, camping, tending her large garden, and spending time with her husband, their son, one dog, one cat, and two tortoises.

 

Dr. Nicola Gillespie graduated from North Carolina State College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. After completing a small animal internship in Massachusetts, she practiced in Connecticut for six years. Dr. Gillespie joined the staff at All Pets Hospital in 2005. She has a special interest in exotic animal medicine, oncology, and ophthalmology. Dr. Gillespie is a member of the California and American Veterinary Medical Association and the Associations of Avian, Small Animal, and Reptile Veterinarians.

During her time off, Dr. Gillespie can be found spending time with her husband and daughter. She enjoys cooking, reading, and music.
